Pedram Zohrevand – Adjunct Professor at the Florida International University
Pedram Zohrevand served as a Research Assistant Professor and Adjunct Professor at Florida International University, from 2012 until 2015. He taught graduate and undergraduate courses at the university. These courses were as follows:
His research projects were as follows:
- Reinforced Concrete Design
- Strengthening and Rehabilitation of Structures using Advanced Composites
- Computer Tools for Civil Engineering
- Structural PE exam preparation
His research projects were as follows:
- Use of fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) composite cable for post-tensioning applications and development of monitoring/inspection techniques for FRP post-tensioned structures. He was serving as a Co-Principal Investigator; Funding Agency: Florida Department of Transportation.
- He was involved in the development of innovative modular high performance lightweight decks for accelerated bridge construction. He was serving as Co-PI; Funding Agency: National Center for Transportation Systems Productivity and Management (NCTSPM).
- Another project included the material characterization of ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC) and the development of design guidelines for bridge structures made of UHPC. Here, he was serving as a Research Associate; Funding Agency: Florida Department of Transportation.
- In addition to this, Pedram Zohrevand developed design guidelines for innovative hybrid FRP-UHPC bridge substructure systems. He was serving as a Research Associate; Funding Agency: National Science Foundation (NSF)-Network for Earthquake Engineering Simulation Research (NEESR).
- Design of experiments and test setups
- Instrumentation
- Data acquisition, analysis and interpretation of data
- Non-linear finite element modeling
- Preparation of technical reports and presentations in several projects, as parts of a multi-university research project funded ($2,030,000) by National Science Foundation (NSF)-Network for Earthquake Engineering Simulation Research (NEESR).
